Alje Schut (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑljə ˈsχʏt]) (born February 18, 1981) is a Dutch football defender who currently plays for Mamelodi Sundowns in the South African Premier Soccer League.[1] Since 2013 he also captains the side. He captained Sundowns to their first league title in 8 years in 2013/14 season. He formerly played thirteen seasons for FC Utrecht in the Dutch highest league, the Eredivisie.
Schut represented the Netherlands at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship.
