Aline Cristine Dorelli de Magalhães e Morais[1] (born December 22, 1982) is a Brazilian actress who starred as Mônica Paiva (Nina) on the telenovela Como uma Onda and as Luciana on the telenovela Viver a Vida. Her stage name is Alinne Moraes.[2][3]

Biography

Alinne Moraes was born in Sorocaba, São Paulo. Prior to becoming an actress, she worked as a professional model. She started working as a model at age 12 and stopped working when she was 18.[4] As a popular actress in Brazil, she won in 2004 the Brazilian VIP magazine internet poll to find the 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2004 (or As 100 Mulheres Mais Sexy do Mundo 2004, in Portuguese).[5] Besides appearing in VIP magazine, she has also appeared in magazines such as Claudia,[6] Nova,[7] UMA,[8] Marie Claire,[9] Trip,[10] Boa Forma[11] and Elle Brasil.[12]

Due to her pregnancy, she was replaced by Tainá Müller in the 2014 telenovela Em Família.[13]

Career

Her first work as an actress was on the telenovela Coração de Estudante (Student's Heart), where she played a young unmarried mother.[14][15] In 2003, in Mulheres Apaixonadas (Women in Love) she played Clara, a gay teenager.[16] In 2004, in the telenovela Da Cor do Pecado, she co-starred as Moa, a surfer with a brain tumor.[17] Between 2004 and 2005, in Como uma Onda, she played her first lead role, Nina, a woman whose affections are sought after by two men: her boyfriend, Jorge Junqueira, and Daniel Cascaes, a Portuguese man.[18] In 2006 she filmed the movie Fica Comigo Esta Noite, which is an adaptation of a Flávio de Souza's play.[19] In the telenovela Bang Bang she played the role of Penny Lane, a scholar of advanced physics.[20]

Between 2007 and 2008, Alinne played one of her most remarkable characters: the villain psychopath Maria Silvia, in the 21 hours telenovela Duas Caras. It was the first villain of the actress, the character was one of the major factors that boosted the audience of the telenovela written by Aguinaldo Silva.

In 2009, the actress played a prostitute in the film Os Normais 2 - A Noite Mais Maluca de Todas, which was the second film in the series originally starred by Luiz Fernando Guimarães and Fernanda Torres.

Alinne Moraes played the former model Luciana Ribeiro in Viver a Vida, a telenovela written by Manoel Carlos, again in the range of 21 hours. Daughter of Marcos Ribeiro (character of José Mayer), Luciana was a rival of Helena Toledo (played by Taís Araújo), wife of her father. Her career was stopped in a bus accident that left her quadriplegic.

She played Queen Cristina in the 2011 telenovela Cordel Encantado,[21] and in the same year she played Lili in the telenovela O Astro.[22] Alinne Moraes played Silvia, the wife of famous late Botafogo footballer Heleno de Freitas in the 2012 film Heleno.[23]

Personal life

Between 2004 and 2007 she had a relationship with actor Cauã Reymond. In 2010, she finished her one year and a half relationship with the bartender and businessman Rodrigo Mendonça.[24]

In 2010, Alinne Moraes received the title of citizen emeritus of Sorocaba, in recognition of her work in film, theater and television.

In 2012, the actress revealed to be an atheist.[25]
