Alexey Sergeievich Gorbunov (Алексе́й Серге́евич Горбуно́в or Олексiй Сергійович Горбунов; Born on October 29, 1961 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is a Soviet, Russian and Ukrainian film, Television and stage actor.

Honored Artist of Ukraine (1991).

Life and career

Alexey Gorbunov born on October 29, 1961 in Kiev. He spent his childhood in Rusanivka neighbourhood in Kiev.

In 1978, immediately after graduating from high school he could not go to Kiev Theatrical Institute because he was not a member of the Komsomol. In the years 1978 and 1979 he worked in The Lesya Ukrainka mounter Theater, in costume shop. In the theater, thanks to Ada Rogovtseva, he met with her husband, actor and his mentor Konstantin Stepankov.

In 1984 he graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Theatrical Art named after Ivan Karpenko-Kary (in Constantine Stepankova course). Gorbunov began filming his first film, "Cargo Unlabeled" on the day he received his diploma.

From 1984 to 1995 he was worked for Alexander Dovzhenko. In the spring of 1985 to April 20, 1987 he served in the Soviet Army.

In the 90's Gorbunov worked as a private taxi driver because of the crisis at the Dovzhenko Film Studio. Back to filming in a movie directed by Vladimir Popkov he was invited for the role of Jester Chico in the movie "Countess de Monsoreau".

Gorbunov worked in the studio theater and as film actor, in the private Chamber Theatre M. Nestantinera and Kiev National Theatre of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka. He starred in Ukrainian TV series "Night Service" (1998) and "Wonder People" (2008).

Gorbunov is a soloist of "Sadness Pilot" and worked as a DJ on the radio stations of Kiev "Continent", "Nostalgia". He also a Organizer and presenter of two discos' "Dzhankoi" and "Jumanji" in Kiev.
