Alexandru Lungu (born 3 September 1974)[1] is a Romanian professional judoka, mixed martial artist and kickboxer. Besides K-1, Cage Rage and PRIDE FC, Lungu has fought for a number of other promotions including Local Kombat and most recently SUPERKOMBAT.
Career
He face Deutsch Pu'u at SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix 2012 IV on October 20, 2012 in Arad, Romania and won by KO in the second round.[2][3][4]
He lost to Jason Dutton via disqualification at SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix I 2013 in Oradea, Romania on April 6, 2013. After dominating the fight and scoring a knockdown in round one, he was handed his first kickboxing loss via disqualification after taking his opponent down and striking him on the ground towards the end of the round.[5][6]
Lungu faced Steven Banks at Local Kombat in Onesti, Romania on 7 December 2012. The bout was declared as a No Contest after both fighters fell out of the ring and Banks sustaining an injury that rendered him unable to continue the fight.[7]
Lungu knocked out Mike Bourke in round one at SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix 2013 Final in Galați, Romania on December 21, 2013.[8]
