Alexander Kirillov, Jr.

Not to be confused with Alexandre Kirillov.

Alexander Alexandrovich Kirillov, Jr. is an American mathematician of Russian descent, working in the area of Representation theory and Lie groups. He is a son of a Russian mathematician Alexandre Kirillov.

Kirillov, Jr. received his Master's degree from the Moscow State University in 1989 and Ph.D from Yale University. He is currently an Associate Professor at State University of New York at Stony Brook. As his father, Kirillov, Jr. also strongly involved in the advanced mathematical education of gifted schoolchildren, he is a teacher of the project SchoolPlus, trying to establish traditions of the Russian Mathematical Schools on the American soil.
