Alexander Jerome Gould (born May 4, 1994) is an American actor, best known for voicing Nemo in Finding Nemo, Twitch in How to Eat Fried Worms and Shane Botwin in Weeds.
Personal life
Gould was born in Los Angeles, to Tom and Valerie Gould. He has two younger sisters, Emma and Kelly, who are also actors. Gould practices Judaism, and is active in the Conservative Jewish youth group USY (he was president of his local USY synagogue chapter during his senior year of high school). He participated in Nativ, a gap year program, where he spent ten months living in Israel, including time in the Negev desert, teaching English to elementary school children.[1][2][3][4]
Gould is a student at Clark University in Massachusetts.[4][5]
Career
Gould made his acting debut at the age of 6 in the episode of Freaks and Geeks where Lindsey gets high and then has to babysit his character of Ronnie. Gould made his feature film debut in They, and is best remembered for voicing the title character of Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo. On television, Gould played the role as Shane Botwin on Showtime's Weeds, as well as guest-starring on Ally McBeal, Malcolm in the Middle, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Supernatural and Pushing Daisies. He starred as David Collins in the WB remake of the soap opera Dark Shadows, but its pilot episode was rejected by the WB Television Network and never aired.
