Alex Woodward (born 11 June 1993) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League.
He was drafted by Hawthorn Football Club with pick 53 in 2011 AFL Draft from the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup. Since being drafted Woodward twice ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and has had two knee reconstructions.[1] Woodward has played primarily for Box Hill Hawks in VFL and finally made his AFL debut in Round 18, 2014. [2]
After competing his first full year of football in three years, Woodward's hard work was rewarded with winning the J. J. Liston Trophy for 2014. He polled 20 votes.[3]
His mother is Filipino.[4]
