Alex Walmsley is an English professional rugby league player for St. Helens of Super League. He has played his entire Super League career to date mostly as a prop forward for St Helens, with whom he won the 2014 Super League championship.

Born in Dewsbury, Walmsley started his career in the amateur leagues, playing for Dewsbury Celtic, and his university team, Leeds Met Carnegie.[2] In 2011, he received the National Conference League player of the year award.[3]

In February 2012, Walmsley signed for Batley Bulldogs following a spell on trial at the club.[4] He was Batley's Player of the Year and the Championship Young Player of the Year, before signing for St Helens.[5]

For the 2013 season he was available to the Bulldogs on a dual registration.[6]

St. Helens reached the 2014 Super League Grand Final and Walmsley was selected to play from the interchnge bench in their 14-6 victory over Wigan Warriors.[7]
