George Alex Katunich (born August 18, 1976) is the former bassist of Incubus.

Since high school, Alex went by the stage name of Dirk Lance which was apparently taken from the credits of an anonymous 1970s porn flick. He stayed with Incubus on bass guitar for over 11 years until he left the band in 2003.[2]

Career

Incubus

Katunich was a member of Incubus from 1991–2003, and played bass on the albums Fungus Amongus, Enjoy Incubus, S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, and Morning View.

After Incubus

In 2008, Katunich came back to the spotlight with Stickman Entertainment, which creates videogame music.[3] Stickman Entertainment's portfolio includes contracts with corporations such as THQ, and musicians such as 311's P-Nut and Suzie Katayama. Stickman Entertainment has worked on soundtracks for such video games as Red Faction, WWE Smackdown, and MotoGP 2.

In April 2006, Alex Katunich played a gig with a Southern California based jam/funk band named Willie's Nerve Clinic. They released one record titled, "Vampire Kiss" to little commercial acclaim and continue to perform and record.

Stickman Entertainment has created Traction in Game Radio, a software for gamers to listen to music in games.

In September 2013, Alex and former bandmate Jose Pasillas II (current drummer and founder member of Incubus), along with former Pharcyde MC Slimkid3 and Jurassic 5’s DJ Nu-Mark, released a new song and music video titled "Picture Perfect Phantasy" inspired by Ubisoft’s ‘Rayman Legends’ video game. They are performing under the name '4 Player Co-Op' and combine funk, rock and hip-hop.

"Picture Perfect Phantasy" is the first time that Alex and Jose have recorded together since Incubus’ 2001 multi-platinum release Morning View.
