Alex Hughes (priest)

Alexander James Hughes (born 1975) is a priest in the Church of England: the Archdeacon[1] of Cambridge.[2]

Hughes was educated at Greyfriars, Oxford, St Edmund's College, Cambridge and Westcott House, Cambridge ; and ordained in 2001. After a curacy at Headington Quarry he was Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of Portsmouth from 2003 to 2008; and Priest in charge, then vicar, of St Luke, Portsea with St Peter, Somerstown from 2008 to 2013. He was notable for reaching out to his inner city community through holding services in tower blocks as well as the more traditional church services.[3]
