Aleix Vidal Parreu (born 21 August 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Sevilla FC mainly as a right winger.

Club career

Born in Valls, Tarragona, Catalonia, Vidal signed for RCD Espanyol in 2008 but never appeared for its first team, finishing his only season with the club on loan to Greek club Panthrakikos FC. On 31 August 2009 he signed for Segunda División side Gimnàstic de Tarragona,[1] but spent the vast majority of the season with Pobla de Mafumet CF, the farm team.

Vidal joined RCD Mallorca in the 2010 summer, being assigned to the reserves in Segunda División B. In mid-June 2011, after the club's relegation, he joined another reserve team also in the category, UD Almería B.[2]

Vidal made his debut for the Andalusians' main squad on 27 August 2011, against Córdoba CF.[3] Shortly after he was promoted to the first team and received the #8 jersey, following the departure of Albert Crusat to Wigan Athletic;[4] in his second season he scored four goals in 37 games – 30 starts, nearly 2,600 minutes of action – helping to a return to La Liga after two years.

On 6 August 2013 Vidal renewed his link with Almería, until 2017.[5] He made his top flight debut on 19 August by starting in a 2–3 home loss to Villarreal CF,[6] and scored his first goal roughly a month later, in a 2–4 defeat at Atlético Madrid.[7]

On 16 June 2014 Vidal joined Sevilla FC for a €3 million fee, signing a four-year contract.[8] He made his competitive debut on 12 August in the 2014 UEFA Super Cup at the Cardiff City Stadium, playing 66 minutes before being substituted for fellow debutant Iago Aspas in a 0–2 defeat to Real Madrid;[9] he found the net on his league debut 11 days later, opening the scoring in a 1–1 home draw against Valencia CF.[10]

Vidal made his debut for Catalonia on 30 December 2013, playing the second half of a 4–1 win over Cape Verde at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.[11]
