Albert Hamilton Williams DeSouza is an Afro-Nicaraguan former professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball, from 1980 until 1984, all for the Minnesota Twins.
From 1977 through 1978, Williams was out of baseball, serving as a freedom fighter in Nicaragua during Nicaraguan Revolution, fighting with the Sandinista rebels.[1] In 1979, he had to be smuggled out of Nicaragua as the government would not grant him a visa to leave the country.
