Albert Shin is a Canadian screenwriter, director and producer, best known for his 2014 film In Her Place. He won the Scotiabank Jay Scott Prize at the Toronto Film Critics Association Awards 2014,[1] and garnered several Canadian Screen Award nominations at the 3rd Canadian Screen Awards, including nominations for Shin in the categories of Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.[2]
Born in Canada[3] and raised in Newmarket, Ontario,[4] Shin studied film at York University.[4] His first film, Point Traverse, was released in 2009,[5] and In Her Place followed in 2014.[4] He has also directed the short film Kai's Place, and the short run television series In Counseling.
Shin is a partner with Igor Drljaca in the production company TimeLapse Pictures, which produced both In Her Place and Drljaca's 2012 film Krivina.[6]
