Albert Rivera Díaz (born 15 November 1979 in Barcelona) is a Spanish attorney and politican. He is currently the leader of Citizens and a member of the Parliament of Catalonia. He studied law at ESADE.
Childhood and education
He won the swimming Catalan championships when he was 16.[3] He studied Law at ESADE and has a master's degree in Constitutional Law.
He has been keen on the legal world ever since he was young. After starting his degree in Law, he began to be interested in politics by taking part in a debating competition all around Spain, which allowed him to perfect his public speaking skills. Constitutional Law professor and driving force of the civil platform Ciutadans de Catalunya (Citizens of Catalonia) Francesc de Carreras was his professor at university. Once he finished his studies he started working in the legal services of La Caixa. He then asked for an unpaid leave to be able to prepare for the 2006 Catalan Parliament election.
