Albert Eide Parr

Albert Eide Parr (1900–1991) was a Norwegian-born zoologist and oceanographer. He was born in Bergen, was married to painter Ella Hage Hanssen, and the couple emigrated to the United States in 1926. He was appointed at the Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut; from 1938 as a Professor of oceanography. From 1942 to 1959 he was manager of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.[1][2][3][4] Among his later research areas was the classification of the Alepocephalidae fishes. The Parrosaurus is named after him.[1]
