Alan Peter Winton (born 4 September 1958)[4] is the Bishop of Thetford in the Church of England.[5][6]
Educated at Sheffield University, he was ordained in 1991. His first post was as a Curate in Southgate.[7] Later he was Priest in charge of St Paul's Walden, then CME Officer for the St Albans Diocese. Finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) he was Rector of Welwyn.[8]
Winton is married with two children.[1]
