Alain-Pierre Mendy (born 17 November 1989) is a Senegalese footballer, who plays for Football League club Fostiras F.C., as a Central Midfielder.

Biography

Born in Dakar, Senegal, Mendy started his professional career in Italy. He was a member of A.C. Mantova's Primavera under-20 team in 2008–09 season.[2] He also played his first professional game in the Serie B on 9 May 2009 against Modena.[3] He also played the next round, the round 40[4] (the third round counting from the end; 42 rounds in total). He then remained in Primavera (literally, Spring) as overage player.[5] After the relegation as the 20th place and the bankrupt of Mantova, he was released. (Subsequently a new team entered in Serie D, Mantova effectively relegated 1+1 levels)

Mendy then without a club for 1 season. It was due to FIGC allowed non-EU players to join youth teams if they joined Italy with reason other than football (family union, education, etc.), they were not allowed to play as a professional player in Italy (age above 20).[6] He trailed at Nocerina in July 2010.[7]

On 5 August 2011 he was signed by Serie A club Parma and left for Pro Vercelli along with Angelo Bencivenga.[8] However the deal collapsed. On 19 August he left for fellow top division club A.S. Roma for €150,000 in 1-year contract. On 26 August he was sold to Brussels on free transfer, along with Parma 2 weeks "team-mate" Sulaiman Sesay Fullah, who also unable to register in Italy.[9] The transaction also made Roma had a non-EU registration quota.

After one season at Brussels, he moved to newly promoted Waasland-Beveren.[10]
