State Route 83 is a 24-mile-long (39 km) route in Conecuh and Monroe Counties in the southern part of the state. The southern terminus of the route is at its junction with U.S. Highways 31 and 84 at Evergreen. The northern terminus of the route is at the junction with State Route 47 at the unincorporated community of Midway in Monroe County.
Route description
State Route 83 leads northward from Evergreen along a two-lane road. Just north of the town, the route junctions Interstate 65, offering motorists in the area direct access to Mobile to the southwest and Montgomery and Birmingham to the north. North of the junction with I-65, State Route 83 passes through rural areas, serving only the unincorporated communities of Lyeffion and Midway before reaching its terminus in eastern Monroe County.
