State Route 136 or SR-136 is a 6.151-mile (9.899 km) state highway in Monroe County in the southwestern part of the state. The western terminus of the route is at its junction with State Route 21 south of Monroeville. The eastern terminus of the route is at its junction with U.S. Highway 84 and State Route 41 near the border of Monroe and Conecuh Counties.

Route description

State Route 136 is aligned along a two-lane road for its entirety. It leads eastward across central Monroe County. It was created in 1963 along the former route of State Route 21 leading eastward from Monroeville. At the route’s halfway point, it passes through the small town of Excel, the birthplace of former Alabama Crimson Tide and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Lee Roy Jordan, then continues to its eastern terminus at its junction with US-84.[2]
