Route description
State Route 101 is 39 miles (63 km) long. It travels through rural areas of Lawrence and Lauderdale Counties, and is aligned along a two-lane route.
Until 1997, the southern terminus of State Route 101 was at its junction with State Route 24. When State Route 24 was realigned along a route slightly north of its original placement as part of the construction of Corridor V, State Route 101’s southern terminus was not truncated.
State Route 101 is one of two Alabama state routes whose northern terminus is at Tennessee State Route 227.
