Al Zariwny
Al Zariwny is a former provincial-level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1993-1997.
The Zariwny Building on Whyte Avenue emblazoned with a "Z" that he built (or had built) in the 1980s still stands at about 10343 82 Avenue.
Political career
Zariwny is a former provincial-level politician. He was elected to the Alberta Legislature in the 1993 Alberta general election. He defeated single-term incumbent New Democrat MLA Barrie Chivers in a hotly contested seven-way race to win the Edmonton-Strathcona seat for the Liberals.[1] Zariwny did not run for a second term in office and retired at dissolution of the legislature in 1997.
