Akzhurek Dostykuly Tanatarov (Kazakh: Ақжүрек Достықұлы Таңатаров; born 3 September 1986) is a Kazakh freestyle wrestler.[1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics he was defeated in the semifinal round of the 66 kg event by Sushil Kumar of India. He sustained an ear injury in the bout which appeared to have been caused by a bite, but the referee did not acknowledge his appeals because an official challenge was not lodged by the Kazakh coach. He won a bronze medal in the repechage round.[2]
