Akhaura is a town located in the heart of Akhaura Upazila. It is part of Brahmanbaria District in Bangladesh. Akhaura railway junction is an important hub, connecting Chittagong, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Dhaka. A railway link to Agartala, India has been approved by the governments of Bangladesh and India in September 2011.[1]
