Akbar Abdi (Persian: اکبر عبدی, born 26 August 1960 in Tehran Iran) is an Iranian actor and comedian.[1][2] Akbar Abdi proved his talent through a TV series consisting of children's programming ("I am late again for school").

He started his career in TV series and soon became very popular. He began his career with the children’s TV series “The Traffic Neighborhood”, directed by Dariush Moadebian in 1981. He was dubbed “the man with a thousand faces of Iranian cinema” for the broad array of comedy roles he played during the 1980’s. His main credits include “The Actor”, “Delshodegan” and “The SnowmanHe shined as a movie star by playing in the movie "Ejareh-Nesheenha" (The Tenants). He has chosen diverse characters to play in different movies and is respected as a classic movie star with a successful career in Iran.

Akbar Abdi that has publicly demonstrated anti-Semitic attitude by using extremely derogatory speak when talking about Jewish people and other minorities , after reviewed his speech , He used the critical Hebrew term "Juhood” which is synonymous to Jew in English. Most of Iranian Jewish community in USA and Iran asked him for repairing his words against Minorities but He refused to do so . The actual tape is available on the YouTube.[3] Many Iranian asked from US Department State to revoke Akbar Abdi's travel visa due to Anti-Semitic accusations In 2015 ,because he continuously attacked religions and backgrounds, Finally his refusal of correction ,show canceled in Los Ageless and he returned to Iran [4][5] [6] Akbar Abdi hospitalized for diabetes, high blood pressure and Diabetic Nephropathy ,He hospitalizations for several months were classified as those for which kidney disease problems in 2015.
