Ajit , variously spelled Ajith, Agith, Ajay, Aje or Ajeet (Sanskrit: अजित) is a common male name derived from Sanskrit. The name is used in various forms in India nationwide and Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The name means invincible or, literally, he who has not been conquered, from the Sanskrit a (not) and jita (conquered). In Hindu mythology, it was a name for both Shiva and Vishnu.
