Ahmed Issack Hassan was born on March 2, in 1970. He is a Kenyan lawyer who is currently the chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission whose objective is to oversee a free and fair election in 2013 in Kenya.[1] He was among nine commissioners who were appointed by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga on November 9, 2011,[2] following earlier recommendation by Parliament. He is a Managing partner in the Law firm Ibrahim, Issack and Company Advocates and served as a commissioner in a government inquiry to the conduct of the Artur Brother, mercenaries alleged to have participated in a raid on the offices of the Standard Media Group in 2006.[3]

Early life and career

He attended Garissa High school in 1988 before proceeding to the University of Nairobi where he studied a degree in law.[4]
