Agrostistachys hookeri is a species of plant in the Euphorbiaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
rather crowded, very large, linear-oblanceolate, tapering base, shortly acuminate apex, margins shollowly serrate toward apex.
Trunk
very slightly branched; stems thick, smooth, leaf-scarred.
Flowers
Inflorescence - lax, elongated racemes.
Fruits
3-lobed capsule.
Ecology
rain forest understory, rocky ridgetops, disturbed sites, waterways of wet zone.
Culture
Known as මහ බෙරු (maha beru) in Sinhala.
