Agrostistachys borneensis is a species of plant in the Euphorbiaceae family. It is a widespread plant native to much of Southeast Asia as well as India, Sri Lanka, and New Guinea.[2]
Leaves
crowded terminally, obovate to oblong, tapering base, shortly acuminate to obtuse apex, stiff.
Trunk
branches stout, leaf-scarred; young parts resinous.
Flowers
female solitary; Inflorescence - male 1-4 clusters in lax racemes.
Fruits
small, 3-lobed capsule.
Site
rain forest understory.
Uses
leaves- root thatching.
Culture
Known as බෙරු (beru) in Sinhala.
