Introduction

Agile Networks was founded in 2011 following a management buyout of the operations of Telindus in Ireland. The new company acquired the assets, staff and customer base from Telindus following similar management buyouts for other Telindus entities in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany and Italy.[1] The new entity has secured funding support from Fingal County Enterprise Board, the local council where Agile Networks has its head office based in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.[2][3][4]

Customer Base

Agile Networks' customer base includes technology companies like Digiweb, Hutchinson 3G, and IAC Search and Media; public sector bodies like HEAnet, HSE, and ESB; and large multinational enterprises like Abbott Laboratories, Analog Devices, and GE.[5] Given the company is focused on complex networks it tends to focus on technology led customers and large international organisations based in Ireland. The company's best known project is the development of a 100MB broadband network which was officially launched in 2011.[6] It was subsequently announced that this network will expand to an additional 650 secondary schools in Ireland, ultimately connecting up every post-primary school at a cost of €41M to be predominantly funded by the Department of Education and Skills.[7]

Awards

The company has received thirteen awards to date: European Business Awards National Champion 2014/15,[8] Bank of Ireland Startup Awards Services Award 2014 and Grand Prix Winner 2014,[9]Tech Excellence Awards Vertical Market Reseller of the Year 2014[10] European Business Awards Ruban d'Honneur 2013/14,[11] European Business Awards National Champion 2013/14,[12] Small Firms Association Awards Emerging New Business 2014,[13] Cisco Ireland Partner Awards Premier Partner of the Year 2013, Juniper Networks UK + Ireland Partner Awards Marketing Campaign of the Year 2013, ICT Excellence Awards Start-up of the Year 2013[14] Fingal Business Excellence Awards Best New Business 2012[15] , Juniper Networks UK + Ireland Partner Awards Partner of the Year 2012,[16] and Juniper Networks Global Partner Conference Regional Partner of the Year 2012[17] In all cases the judges cited Agile Networks operational model, technical capabilities, and growing list of clients as evidence of success in the marketplace.
