Afton Municipal Airport[1] (IATA: AFO, ICAO: KAFO, FAA LID: AFO) is a town-owned, public-use airport located one nautical mile (1.85 km) southwest of the central business district of Afton, a town in Lincoln County, Wyoming, United States.[1] It is also known as Afton-Lincoln County Airport.[2]

This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (2009–2013), which categorizes it as a general aviation airport.[3]

Facilities and aircraft

The airport covers an area of 282 acres (114 ha) at an elevation of 6,221 feet (1,896 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 16/34 with an asphalt surface measuring 7,023 by 75 feet (2,141 x 23 m).[1]

For the 12-month period ending April 30, 2007, the airport had 14,820 aircraft operations, an average of 40 per day: 98% general aviation, 2% air taxi and <1% military. At that time there were 43 aircraft based at this airport: 81% single-engine, 9% multi-engine and 9% ultralight.[1]
