Aftab Iqbal (Urdu: آفتاب اقبال—Āftāb Iqbāl) is a journalist and television anchor from Okara, Pakistan who hosts the political-humour talk show Khabarnaak on GEO News. Previously, he hosted the show Hasb-e-Haal on Dunya News before leaving the channel.[2] Aftab is the son of the Urdu poet Zafar Iqbal. From 1994-95, Iqbal served as Media Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab. He frequently writes a column in The News International.[1] He also wrote an article for Newsweek Pakistan.[3]
As a columnist, Iqbal has written for a number of publications, including the Urdu language Nawa-i-Waqt. He graduated with Masters from the Government College University in Lahore in 1985 and studied media at the San Jose State University in California in 1986.Aftab belonges to Arain family.[1]
