Afrin District
Afrin District (Arabic: عفرين / ALA-LC: ‘Afrīn; Kurdish: Efrîn) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Aleppo Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 census, it had a population of 172,095. Its administrative centre is the city of Afrin.
Sub-districts
The district of Afrin is divided into seven sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Afrin Nahiyah (ناحية عفرين): population 66,188.[1]
- Bulbul Nahiyah (ناحية بلبل): population 12,573.[2]
- Jindires Nahiyah (ناحية جنديرس): population 32,947.[3]
- Rajo Nahiyah (ناحية راجو): population 21,955.[4]
- Sharran Nahiyah (ناحية شرّان): population 13,632.[5]
- Shaykh al-Hadid Nahiyah (ناحية شيخ الحديد): population 13,871.[6]
- Maabatli Nahiyah (ناحية معبطلي): population 11,741.[7]
