African Theological Archministry

The African Theological Archministry is a new religious movement, one in the tradition of the Yoruba religion, that was founded by Walter Eugene King. In 1970, King declared himself a Yoruba king and took the regnal name "Oba Efuntola Adelabu Adefunmi I". He then moved the congregation of followers that had grown around him to South Carolina, where they subsequently founded the Oyotunji community. The group has grown over the years, having nineteen affiliated centers in the United States in 1988.
