The African Artists' Foundation (also known as AAF) is a Non-profit organization, based in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded in 2007 by Azu Nwagbogu.[1] It is aimed at promoting African art and artists. The organization provides a platform for Nigerian and African artists to showcase their art and artistic expressions.[2]
Projects
AAF started some projects which include;
- The LagosPhoto Festival, began in 2010 as the first and only international arts festival of photography in Nigeria.[1][3][4][5][6]
- The National Art Competition, began in 2008, helped artist to expose their work to the target audience.[7]
- The Female Artist's Platform[1][8]
- CDI (Capacity Development Integration)[9]
- YECA (Youth Empowerment through Contemporary Art)[10]
- ABA (Art Base Africa, it is an online platform for debating about African contemporary art)[11]
- NAC (National Art Competition, an annual arts competition organized by AAF)[12]
