In policy debate, the affirmative (AFF) is the team which affirms the resolution. The Affirmative side negates the negative side.
The affirmative team speaks first and last. They give four speeches:
- First affirmative constructive (1AC)
- Second affirmative constructive (2AC)
- First affirmative rebuttal (1AR)
- Second affirmative rebuttal (2AR)
