Adriana of Nassau-Dillenburg (7 February 1449 15 January 1477) was a daughter of Count John IV of Nassau-Dillenburg and his wife Maria of Loon-Heinsberg.

She died on 15 January 1477 and was buried in the church of St. Mary in Hanau. On her epitaph, she is depicted in a praying position towards the (no longer extant) high altar. This epitaph and her grave stone have been preserved very well.[1][2]

Marriage and issue

On 12 September 1468, she married Count Philip I the Younger of Hanau-Münzenberg. Together, they had the following children:

  1. A daughter (b. 4 April 1469), died shortly after birth
  2. Adriana (1 May 1, 1470 12 April 1524), married in 1490 with Count Philip of Solms-Lich (15 August 1468 3 October 1544 in Frankfurt)
  3. Margaret (6 April 1471 5 September 1503) a nun at Liebenau monastery)
  4. Reinhard IV (14 March 1473 30 January 1512)
  5. Anna (15 March 1474 21 March 1475)
  6. Marie (4 March 1475 18 May 1476)
