Adolf Fischer (23 July 1893 – 23 October 1947) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Adolf Fischer was captured by Yugoslavian troops in May 1945. He was charged with war crimes and executed by hanging on 23 October 1947.
