Adivi Sesh, born Adivi Sesh Sunny Chandra, is an actor, director, who is known for his roles in Karma and Panjaa. He is the cousin of Sai Kiran Adivi who is a Tollywood director, and is also related to the writer Adivi Bapiraju.
Career
Sesh debuted as a director and writer in the 2010 Bilingual Film Karma: Do You Believe ? which starred himself, Jade Tailor and Sher Ali in the Lead Roles.[1] Being an Offbeat Drama, it was not successful but Sesh's Portrayal of Dev, a person who just knows certain things before they happen, was well appreciated. Rediff praised his performance stating "As far as acting goes, Sesh Adivi does a good job. With an 'angelic' face he is an apt choice to play enigmatic Dev. His scripting skills also deserve mention. He may have chosen an unconventional path and a novel theme but he has tried to infuse something new in Telugu cinema."[2]
Later in 2011, Sesh appeared in Vishnuvardhan's Panjaa which starred Pawan Kalyan, Sarah Jane Dias and Anjali Lavania in the lead. In this film, Sesh portrayed the role of Munna, an NRI who is a rich spoiled brat, a very dangerous fellow both to others around him. This also marked his debut as a villain.[3] His performance was highly appreciated by critics. Rediff praised his performance stating "Sesh Adivi is worth watching for his 'maniacal' performance which is just the opposite of what he did in Karma, his directorial and acting debut."[4] CineGoer.com also praised his Performance stating "Sesh's Karma changes for the good with this film and he is quite a revelation, another example why good-looking men can't survive in this industry as heroes they are cursed to be villains."[5] After impressing everyone as a spoilt-brat in Panjaa, Adivi Sesh was roped for a pivotal role in Ravi Teja's Balupu directed by Gopichand Malineni.[6] He is also working in the film Kiss which stars himself and Priya Banerjee in the leads. Kiss is his directorial and produced by Sai Kiran Adivi.[7] He is also roped for a crucial role in S.S. Rajamouli's epic drama Baahubali which stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in main roles.[8]
