Adinandra lasiopetala is a species of plant in the Pentaphylacaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
oblong to lanceolate, base tapered, obtuse apex, margins entire to faintly denticulate and rolled down, minutely pubescent beneath.
Trunk
Bark - dull brown to mottled gray; Wood - dark red-brown, hard; young parts minutely pubescent beneath.
Flowers
white, large, solitary, axillary.
Fruits
shiny black, globose berry, with pointed, fleshy, persistent sepals; seeds kidney-shaped.
Ecology
montane forest canopy.
Uses
Wood - light construction.
Culture
Known as "රට මිහිරිය - rata mihiriya" in Sinhala.
