Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy (also known as "Acute hemorrhagic edema of childhood,"[1] "Finkelstein's disease,"[2] "Infantile postinfectious iris-like purpura and edema,"[2] "Medallion-like purpura,"[2] "Purpura en cocarde avec oedema,"[2] and "Seidlmayer syndrome"[2]) is a skin condition that affects children under the age of two with a recent history of upper respiratory illness, a course of antibiotics, or both.[2]:833
