Act of Betrayal is a 1988 mini series that was a co-production between Ireland, Australia and the US.
It had a budget of $6 million and was later cut down to a 117 minute TV movie.[1]
Plot
Michael McGurk, an IRA man, turns informer and the British send him to Australia with his family. The IRA send an American hit man, Callaghan, to assassinate him. A woman, Cathy, has an affair with both McGurk and Callaghan.
Reception
Max Cullen's performance as an Australian IRA sympathiser won him an AFI.[2]
