Acanthuroidei /əˌkænθəˈrɔɪdiːaɪ/ is a suborder of the Perciformes, the largest order of fish. The suborder includes the surgeonfish and Moorish idol. Members of this suborder have a compressed body covered with small ctenoid scales.
