Acanthosis

Not to be confused with Acantholysis.
Not to be confused with Acanthocyte.

Acanthosis is diffuse epidermal hyperplasia (thickening of the skin).[1] It implies increased thickness of the Malpighian layer (stratum basale and stratum spinosum).[2]
