Acanthocobitis zonalternans is a species of fish in the family Nemacheilidae, the stone loaches. It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia, where it occurs in Bangladesh, Burma, and Thailand, its range extending into Manipur in India.[1]
This species is up to 7.8 centimeters long.[2]
This freshwater fish lives in large and small rivers and streams. It is often found in riffles over pebbly bottoms, its spotted coloration helping it to blend in. It is caught for food and for use in aquaria.[1]
