Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre

The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated ADNEC) is an exhibition centre in Abu Dhabi. It was opened by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates on February 18, 2007. The venue is the largest exhibition centre in the Middle East with an total space of 133,000sqm which is The sum of 73,000sqm indoor event space and its outdoor space is 55,900sqm. ADNEC has a Large Seating capacity in its several locations in the venue, the International Convention Centre-ICC can seat up to 6,000, both Conference Halls A&B seat up to 1,500 combined , and the 20 Meeting rooms in the venue can seat between 20 and 200 a room, while the Grandstand can accommodate up to 5,400 visitors.

ADNEC is a Multinational award winning venue as it has won several awards over the past years,[1] in 2009 ADNEC was named as the Middle East Leading Exhibition Centre at the World Travel Awards.[2] The venue also won the title of Best Meetings Venue at the 2009 Middle East Event Awards.and in 2010 ADNEC won the award for the Best International Venue by Exhibition News Awards.[3] on the same year ADNEC won the Green Award by the Middle East Event Awards.[4] In 2010 ADNEC also managed to win the International Venue of the year by AEO Excellence Awards.[5] In the year of 2011,ADNEC won several awards including the World's Leading Meeting and Conference Centre Award and the Middle East's Leading and Convention Centre by the World Travel Awards.[6] ADNEC also won the prestigious Best International Venue title for the second year in a row, at the Exhibition News Awards 2011.[7] and it was that year that ADNEC won the Best International Venue by the AEO Excellence Awards.[8] ADNEC also managed to grab the award for the Outstanding Contribution to sustainability by the Middle East Event Awards.[9] in 2012 ADNEC has also managed to grab several outstanding awards including the Best Purpose-Built events venue by the Middle East Event Awards,[10] and the World's Leading Meeting and Conference Centre by the World Travel Awards.[11] it was in 2012 that ADNEC managed to win the Golden Category in Customer Service by the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award.[12] In 2013 ADNEC Scooped the Exhibition Venue of the Year Award by Event Awards, and the Middle East's Leading Exhibition and Convention Centre by the World Travel Awards.[13] ADNEC aslso won the awards for the Best Middle East Exhibition for IDEX by the Middle East Events Awards.[14]

The success of the exhibition centre has stimulated development around it, most notable the Capital Centre and Capital Gate projects.[15]
