Abortion in Azerbaijan

Abortion in Azerbaijan is legal upon request within the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy.^[1] After that, it is legal when the abortion will save the woman's life or preserve her health, the father died during the pregnancy, either parent was imprisoned, the pregnancy is a result of rape, there is a disability in the family, or the parents have divorced.^[1] Additionally, a physician may approve any other reason to carry out an abortion.^[1]
