Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali (Urdu: ; b. 21 November 1971 in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan) is a Pakistani politician and businessman who is affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) political party and is currently a parliamentarian in the National Assembly of Pakistan. He has served in various political fields and has held positions in the Standing Committee on Education (as chairman), Standing Committee on Privatization and Investment, Standing Committee on Water and Power as well as the Standing Committee on Youth Affairs.[1][2] Ali hails from the city of Faisalabad and holds an MBA degree from the University of the Punjab in Lahore. Abid Sher was appointed Minister for Water and power after winning his constituency in May Election 2013. Like almost all members of the cabinet, he is a close friend and relative of Nawaz Sharif.[3]
