Abdulwaheed Afolabi (born December 8, 1991 in Kaduna) is a Nigerian professional football player who plays for Moldovan National Division for Saxan Gagauz Yeri.
Career
Afolabi went on trial with Black Leopards of the South African Premier Soccer League in August 2011, but negotiations broke down and he returned to Niger Tornadoes.[1] In March 2012, Afolabi signed a two-year contract with Ukrainian side Tavriya Simferopol.[2] Afolabi then transferred to Russian Premier League side Kuban Krasnodar in August 2012, signing a four-year contract.[3] Afolabi made his debut for Kubam on 30 November 2012 in a game against FC Krasnodar.[4] Afolabi cancelled his contract with Kuban after he was demoted to their youth team.[5]
Gabala
Afolabi joined Azerbaijan Premier League side Gabala in June 2013, signing a 1-year contract with the option of another year.[6][7] He made his debut on 2 August 2013, coming on as halftime substitute for Yannick Kamanan in their 2-1 away victory over Baku.[8] Afolabi scored his first goal for Gabala on 4 December 2013, in their 2-1 Cup victory over Mil-Muğan.[9]
