Sultan Abdul Jalil Karamatullah Nasiruddin Mukhataram Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah I Rahmatullah KCMG (23 April 1869 – 26 October 1918) was a 29th Sultan of Perak. Perak was part of the Federated Malay States.
Early life
Raja Abdul Jalil was born on 23 April 1869 at Kuala Keboi, Kampar, Perak. He was the son of Sultan Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah I Ibni Almarhum Raja Bendahara Alang Iskandar Teja. He was appointed Raja Di Hilir in 1898 and later in 1907, became Raja Bendahara.
Sultan of Perak
In 1916, upon the death of his father, Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah I, he was appointed as Raja Di-Hilir. Raja Abdul Jalil ascended the Perak throne in 1916 following the death of his father Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah Rahmatullah Ibni Almarhum Raja Bendahara Alang Iskandar Teja.
Death
He died in 26 October 1918 and was given the post-humous title of Marhum Radziallah. He was succeeded by his younger brother - Sultan Iskandar Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah Rahmatullah.
Legacy
The Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah Bridge which crosses the Perak River at Kuala Kangsar is named in his honour.
