Abdon Pamich (born 3 October 1933 in Fiume) is a former Italian race walker, who won two Olympic medals.

Biography

Pamich was born in Fiume (Rijeka, in present-day Croatia) in 1933, at that time the city was under Italian jurisdiction,^[2] and was the nation's flagbearer at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He also set a world best time over 50 km with 4:03:02 on 16 October 1960 in Ponte San Pietro. The best time was lowered to 4:01:39 the next year by Grigoriy Klimov.

Abdon Pamich has won 40 times the individual national championship, first of all-time.^[3]

• 13 wins in the 10000 m walk (1956 and 12 times consecutively from 1958 to 1969)
• 13 wins in the 20 km walk (12 times consecutively from 1958 to 1969 and 1971)
• 14 wins in the 50 km walk (14 times consecutively from 1955 to 1969)
